lan or file sharing over vast distance

lol i dont like this simple server is there anyhting a bit better i could use

The only other thing you can use is one of the FTP programs I mentioned above. I don't know how they work because I don't use them but the link I sent are all the free ones and shouldn't be too hard to set up. You will still have to designate a folder to share though.

I understand that. That is why I suggested FTP. It's a program that will allow you to share a certain folder (or more than one) on your computer with others. They will connect to your computer and be able to see all of your files that you have made available to share. For instance here is an FTP site you can look at; ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/

Yours will look the same as this only with your own file of course.
