LAN problem

    Hello

    I have a LAN problem, wel all start when i have to change my HD (the last died) I install win98 with no problem but when I want to see the others PC's in the LAN they don't appear I have to use a explorer an type the IP of the others PC's, also when I want to find the others PC's searching by name win98 dosen't find them but from others PC I find the PC that I formated

    I check the configuration of the others PC's and thy are the same anybody know why it happend?


    The PC is a IBM pl300 with the LAN card incorporated could it be the problem?
    before my HD died it works fine

    First off, in TCP/IP properties, check that NETBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled. If that doesn't fix it, try installing the NETBEUI protocol on all the machines.

    What you're describing is a name resolution issue, since you can establish connections with the other PC's.
