    Hey folks,
I have Lenovo G500s windows 10 laptop Whenever I plug in my headphones to laptop, sometimes sound comes from laptop speakers and sometimes sound comes from my headphone. I had re-installed audio drivers and I even tried with new earphones, but still problem persists. Please help me out to identify why my laptop is behaving is this? I am facing this problem even before updating to windows 10.

Go to Realtek HD Audio Manager and click on Device Advanced Settings and change it from Multi-stream Mode to Classic.

Check in the Conexant Smart HD audio settings vs Realtek settings.

Thanks PrashantBhurke for the reply, I tried all possible solutions available on net, but of no use. It seems my laptop's audio jack port is damaged. Need to visit Lenovo Service center.

Make sure it’s not static build up within the jack.

Shutdown the laptop. Remove anything plugged into the laptop including the AC power cord. Remove the battery and then hold down the power button for 30 seconds. After, only insert the AC power cord and start the laptop, test the headphones. Once complete, you can insert the battery and whatever else with the laptop still on.

Can we plug in AC power cord and start the laptop without battery? Will it not do any harm to my laptop?

Yes you can start without a battery and no it will not harm the laptop or battery.
