    Hi everyone,
I have a laptop that does not boot. when the power button is pressed the blue power light comes on, thats it, nothing
i have removed the rom drive, hard drive, & ram. I then powered it up expecting some beep, still nothing, no response from the machine. I then removed the bios battery, and powered it up still nothing. replaced the bios battery and tried powering it up again, but nothing no beeping. should it not beep with the drives and ram removed?? I suspect a processor or mainboard failure.. whats your perspective? what else could i try?

Not all laptops beep with no RAM. Install one stick of RAM and try again, if still nothing try the other stick, and if still nothing try each of them in the second slot.

Also, may help to post the exact model number of the laptop.

Have you tried the RAM one at a time?

It might be the motherboard then, not a uncommon failure on an Acer.
