My brother's laptop isn't booting up, I want to plug the hard drive into my PC so I can try to retrieve some of the files for him. I disassembled the laptop and removed the hard drive but it didn't have the SATA connections I was expecting. It was similar to what is found at this link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300984227867

How can I plug this into my PC?

The link you posted too is an adapter that is removalable from the hard drive and once removed gives you regular SATA connectors. If that is not what you have then you need to post the actual model of the laptop.

Thanks for the replies, its an Acer Aspire 7536 MS2262.

I'll have a double check tonight when I'm home if it just disconnects from the HDD to leave SATA connections.
