My mother has a Toshiba Satellite A135-s7404 laptop
When its charging the power brick is plugged into a surge protector.

3 of its power bricks have failed for it
the first time was unrelated (I hope): one of her seam rippers that she forgot about sliced the cord almost all the way through, and she didn't notice anything wrong until the laptop power management started hibernating @ 7%

The second one was a replacement that was covered by warranty
It lasted about 3 months, it just died one day.

The most recent one is a "universal AC adapter" made by Toshiba for the A135 series
I got it from Office Max for cheap because of a price mix up
This morning it stopped working. When its plugged in, it chirps.

    Or could it...
Now that I think about it, the laptop was purchased in early November last year,
the first brick failed in February, the second in may, and this one just now in July,
Each time roughly 3 months apart.

Is it bad luck, this laptop, or the outlet in her room to blame? Could it happen again?
