Laptop lagging

I know this is pretty general, but can I get some help with persistent lagging? I've disabled some services and startup programs and it hasn't helped but I'm sure there are more I could stop than I'm unaware of. Please let me know what info and details to share that could help. Thank you so much.

Check Task Manager to see what is using up the CPU, or RAM, or both.

There is a freeware tool called Startup Delayer that details items that are set for auto-start. You can then choose the order of what things are started, or choose a designated time to delay before something is started, or disable specific things. There is an upgraded version of the product for a small fee. I found it to be a very useful tool. Here is the link to the product page:

Other than that, I believe your laptop is booting from an HDD. Anytime you are booting off an HDD the responsiveness is going to be less than booting from an SSD.
