8 GB DDR4
Intel HD 520 (Integrated)
256 GB SK Hynix SC308 SSD (37.1 GB free)
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

So, heres my issue. My microphone used to work inside the laptop, but lately it hasnt been able to take input.

Ive tried re-installing the audio driver (There wasnt an updated version, I was on the latest), ive tried a force restart, and a normal restart. I have also done Windows Updates recently, that might have broke something, but I doubt it.

Discord, Steam, CS-GO, nothing actually can get input from the mic. It just dosen't work.

If you need any logs, or other information, id be happy to provide it.

type: "trouble" and select "Troubleshoot settings"
Additional troubleshooters -> Speech

On that screen in your screenshot click on "View detailed information" copy entry text and paste it here if possible.

Follow steps below to share system information file:

1. Click on Windows button
2. Type msinfo32 on your kyeboard
3. Right click on "System Information" and Run as Administrator
4. If asked for password enter your password and click OK
5. Click on: File -> Save...
6. Save the file to C:\ root drive
8. Zip up this file and attach to your reply

That? It was a direct copy from the window, there may be a few broken aspects that wouldnt be there in the window itself.

Can you confirm microphone was not blocked, disabled or muted in the following locations:

1. Device manager
2. Settings -> Privacy -> Microphone
3. Settings -> System -> Sound -> Input
4. BIOS (if there is an option)
5. Settings -> System -> Sound -> Input -> Manage sound devices
6. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items -> Sound -> Recording
7. In Administrative account under: Settings -> Privacy -> Microphone -> microphone access on this device

Ah, it was blocked in Privacy for some unknown reason. I thought it was some huge issue here, and it turned out to be a button I probably clicked on accident.

Well, thanks. I wouldnt have thought to check immediately given what I thought the issue could have been. Now I can actually talk to my teammates in CS-GO :D
