I've been lurking in this site for a bit and it seems like you guys have had this question come up countless times. I've tried some of the solutions there on my laptop, but it doesn't seem to work. yesterday I took my old acer aspire 5733z apart to clean out the fan. Nothing weird happened to it, and when I assembled it back together again, it was working fine. Took it back to my room and all of the sudden the laptop can't identifiy the Wifi. I've reseted the wifi restarted the laptop, but it doesn't seem to work. right now I'm on the ethernet to ask for some help. here's some info on my computer:

yes i know some of the servers say 10.00 or 20.0 I just edited it, call me paranoid i guess
Edit 2: oddly enough when i unplugged the laptop from the ethernet yesterday the wifi showed that it could connect to the internet, when i opened it up today it now shows that I can't, and I'm back on the ethernet again. I did try to uninstall the qualcomm driver and reinstall it again, but still it won't work.
Edit 3: I think I've found the answer, my wifi chip, can't think of the actual name, is going bad so i'll probably buy a wifi adapter for it. I'll keep this post up if anyone else has the same problem.

I can think of other names for people who ask for help but hide information that may be critical to identifying the issue or at least will allow us to go on to something else.
