My HP laptop (running Windows 7) is only about six months old. It was working fine until I had an HP Bios update. Then it started overheating and shutting down. I did a systems restore to two days before this update, but it isn't helping.

Is there a way to check my Bios? Or can you tell me what else I can check to see why my laptop keeps overheating and shutting down? The fan is working fine. I checked underneath it and there is no dust or dirt. I clean the holes regularly to make sure there is nothing blocking the openings.

Thanks
Kathy

Yes, it is still under warranty. The problem is, I bought my laptop in Wisconsin where I live but I'm on vacation in Florida until April.

You should still be able to call them and explain your situation and see what they have to say.
