A couple of days of ago I had forgot my laptop power cord and my laptop died and now won't charge. For weeks prior it wouldn't turn on with the power cord in and if it was in I was forced to take out both the power cord and battery and after a few seconds place the battery in the laptop and turn it on. After the laptop is turned on I can put in the power cord and it would charge. I have tried removing the battery and trying to turn on without the battery but it won't turn on

That means either the power cord is bad, the adapter is bad or the power connection on the motherboard is bad.
First determine which of those three items needs replacing.
