Are laptop parts, hard drive, cd rom and floppy interchangable from one brand of laptop to another?

I would say probably yes to the Hdd, the floppy and CD maybe, it depends on what the manufacturer of the Laptops used as original parts.

I would only say yes to the HDD (but no to any operating system loaded on it, needs reloading on the new laptop)

Floppy drives and CD drives are often somewhat unique mechanically.

This is a truism, but if the laptops are fairly recent IBM and toshiba, you might be in luck. IBM Laptop HDDs are now made by toshiba. And they both have used the same model Combo drives from time to time. The Floppy is a bigger question mark though.

Internal multibay CD-ROM and floppy drives are not interchangeable between laptops. Sometimes a manufacturer will make one type of multibay device that can be used on multiple models, but there's still a finite life span.

Hard drives are generally interchangeable.

The hard disks and memory are probably the only readily interchangable parts. The floppies and CD's generally are not.
