    Hey :)
I'm looking for some reccommendations for a laptop for uni next year, but am having difficulty finding a laptop that would be great for both gaming and multimedia (as i'll be studying screen arts and 3D animation).

I would be looking to spend around $2000(AUS) at max, but it would be great if there was any cheaper products that could fullfil the criteria.

I was considering buying a Mac because apparently they are better for the courses I will be studying. But I guess a PC would also be fine for it? If i ended up buying a Mac I assume I would lose out with the gaming capabilities of a PC.

    Web links would be appreciated.

I went to the Dell Australia site and configured a Precision M4500 with i7-840M processor, 4GB RAM, Quadro FX1800M graphics, 15.6 inch display, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, 320GB SATA, wireless, LAN, 3 year warranty, etc... for $3898 AUS.

Then I went to the Dell USA site (and using Windows 7 Side-by-Side display) configured the exactly the same laptop for $1994 USD (includes $593 special deal).

A near as I can tell, Australia dollars approximately equals US dollars. So why is it twice the price if you buy it from Dell Australia? Any chance you can buy it in the US and have it shipped to Australia?
