Dell and Compaq are 2 different computer brands.

If your computer is a Dell, it'll have a 7-character service tag/express service code number on the sticker.

If your computer is a Compaq, it'll have a product number(P/N) and/or model number(M/N) on the sticker.

    Advise us what it is.

How did you get XP Home Edition and XP Professional to run in the same computer?

Are you saying that you bought a HP Compaq nx9000 laptop from some guy and that it has XP Home Edition and XP Professional both installed and is password protected?

If you forgot the password, you're out of luck.

You'll need to do a clean reinstall of XP Professional and set it up with a new password.

You need to buy a legal Windows XP Professional CD that has a 25-character serial number so you can legally activate it after it's installed.

It sounds like you're stuck with Windows XP Home Edition for now.

    Read the forum rules.

We don't assist with bypassing a password-protected computer because we have no way of knowing the person's real intent for wanting to access it.
