Laptop screen to view external PC?

    Hi everyone. I think I know the answer to this, but rather than try and cause irreversible damage, I thought it better to ask the knowledgebase!

    I have just bought a Compaq base unit PC from eBay, it came with no monitor. I was thinking of buying a 19" TFT to go with it, but then I thought - can I use my existing laptop monitor? I know there is an option for me to have an additional monitor for my laptop, but can it work the other way

    I have an HP Pavilion zd8123ea, 3 years old - it has an ATI Mobility Radeon X600 graphics card and there is a VGA plug on the back...

    No, its one way only, out from the lappy. That feature could be built into a laptop but it would involve an extra HDMI, VGA or DVI port and be well advertised as being capable of that function.
