Our laptop screen no longer works (thanks to my son peeing on the computer!!!). We were connecting to our TV monitor via HDMI, but after my wife downloaded Windows 10, everytime we attempt to connect to the TV or any other monitor, we get a "no signal" message. I am computer illiterate, but I was hoping some knowledgeable people here would be able to assist.
liquids and pc's dont mix well. this may have caused more issues then the upgrade. checking everything is plugged in firmly should narrow things down.
try the monitor on another machine, (if available). this will test whether the monitor is ok. the graphics card and settings follow next. check for any internal liquid damage and reseat firmly.
AS you have tried it on several monitors, the problem is either with the cable or within the motherboard.(computer)
A couple of things you could experiment with
1. Is there another HDMI outlet from the computer
2. A serial connection from the computer and, of equal importance, into the TV.
But, you say "After you had downloaded Windows 10". Is this a typo, or do you mean that it was working up to that point?
If you have a button at the top of the keyboard with 2 symbols like 2 screens ( monitors ) on it you can try pressing fn( function ) and pressing the dual screen key at the same time , this transfers the output to the alternative monitor
