I have a Lenovo thinkpad running windows 10 and when trying to connect to any site using google it is dial-up slow, or takes so long that the site times out or something. It took me about 5 minutes waiting for techguy.com to load.

To isolate hardware or software (wifi going bad versus Windows 10 configuration) problem, connect it by ethernet.

Does it load faster otr the same?

I am unable to connect via ethernet. The wifi I receive is a piggy back from my friend next door. I also play a couple of microsoft games that sometimes will close with a notice "connection lost" when I know that I still have an internet connection.

That's your answer. You are stealing next doors bandwith and connection. Get & pay for your own connection and the problems will stop

Ok, if that is the answer. But I am not stealing anything, I pay half of his bill.
