Hi,

I have a Toshiba Laptop, and it has a trident cyber alladin video card. From what I have done so far... i havent been impressed with it. I have looked around, and can never seem to find prices on a ATI Mobile Radeon card. Any ideas where i would get one for cheap? And also are the video cards soldered onto the board in laptops? I am just looking for something mainly to keep up w/autoCAD and Rhino software which this one can do... but takes its time.

Thanks

The only chance you have is if the chip is plug in not soldered OR the whole graphics module is replacable. Both of these are extremely unusual and I don't think they are with Toshiba.

Yes. The only laptop I know of with replaceable video cards is by Alienware (Area 51-m, not the thin and light version). They weigh a ton, have poor battery life and are more expensive than your average laptop. But, they have a replaceable video card and play games.
