My computer is not hibernating or going to standby every time I close the lid. It does shut down initially when I close it, but less than 2 minutes later, it will start up again. Especially overnight, it will generally restart (when the lid is closed) about every 2 minutes the entire night. I've tried manually putting it into hibernate/standby and the same thing happens (goes to it, then restarts after a bit). This is draining all of my battery so I really can't take my laptop anywhere without my charger and a power outlet. Anyone know what's wrong? Thanks!

It sounds like you have some service running that wakes it up. First stop would be to check the perferials in Device Manager and make sure that the power option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is enabled.

Next, I'd review the running processes to see if you can identify something that would be waking up periodically. You could also try disabling the wireless connection when you put it to sleep to see if the network activity is waking it up.
