i have been having the same or similar problem. it started last week. I am able to connect and surf the web from my home network, but cannot surf on any other connection.

I stay in hotels quite often and have not been able to access webpages on any of their internet connections. niether wireless or wired work. I can get an ip from their router but when i open internet explorer after about a minute I only get "Page cannot be displayed" no matter what address i type in. same results at 3 different hotels.

I am able to ping websites (www.yahoo.com, www.google.com......) in the command prompt. but still nothing in internet explorer.

As soon as I get home I connect and can view webpages no problem.

let me know if you come up with a solution.

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

I've created a new thread for your issue here.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

Is the IP information you are getting correct for the hotel's network.
Can you ping the gateway's IP address
Can you ping 4.2.2.1 and www.yahoo.com
