can anyone tell me if i can have a computer briging two old laptops through com ports to the ethernet and if it will deteriorated the performance of the PC. The laptops do not have ethernet so is this the best solution. Im using NT Server 4 and want to use the laptops as web servers, as is the desktop.

Com ports connecting web servers? I think you'll need a sundial to time the responses from those servers! Have you considered a $15 PCMCIA Ethernet card for the laptops?
