    Hello...

    Laptop - Dell
    Model - Vostro 3558

Since 1 week..my laptop's power button is not working.. tried many things from youtube..

    1. Tried removing battery and holding power button for at least 1 minute and then putting back battery
    (Battery is fully charged)

    2. Tried F3,F4,F5 keys pressing together for 2 mins after removing and putting back battery. On youtube.. hp laptop was opened this way.. Did not work on dell.

    3. Cleaned power button with air etc.

    4. Charger and adaptor are also fine.

Please tell me an easy way without opening the laptop and without going to the repair shop.

Pls tell me the keys like f3 f4 f5 works for hp..what are the keys for dell vostro 3558..

1 month back..laptops hard disk wasnt working...so got it replaced with a new one..then after that everything was fine and suddenly out of nowhere one day power button is not working.

It's a 3 year old laptop...at the time of purchase..its operating system was changed from default op ubuntu to windows 8.1

    Waiting for your answer...

    Thanks

There is not much you can do yourself. It is a mechanical part, when it breaks, it is broken. You have to get the part replaced.
