    Hey d00ds,

Business has been good lately and I am in the market for a new 19" or 20 " LCD monitor(I currently have a 21" CRT) and want to take the big plunge with an LCD. I have been shopping around and have personally viewed the Samsung 191T and the Viewsonic VX900. When testing both of these monitors out, they were not very good with the pixel size (both saying .29 or so). When I dragged the mouse across the screen on them it was like the mouse curser was almost having a trail. I did set them both up in their native resoution plugged into analog outs (1280x1024).

It seems I might need one with better response time and smaller pixels....can anyone shed light on this subject?

Also if there is an LCD expert out there that can help me, I would appreciate it immensely to point me into a direction where I can find a monitor where I might not see so much ghosting of the pixels.

I do alot of graphic design and use Photoshop 7 quite frequently.

Help and sorry for the long post

Welcome to the board. I just recently purchased a new monitor and went back to CRT. Well I never had a flat panel. I chose to go with a CRT with Perfect Flat screen and for the same money I would have spent on a LCD (flat panel) I was able to get a heck of a monitor.

Having said that, my reading convinced me that at least for now, LCD wasn't up to par for the money.

See this: http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/t...l Lit Review/Computer Monitor: LCD vs CRT.doc

    and http://www.macworld.com/2000/07/features/flatpanelside.html

and since you use Photoshop a lot I thought I'd throw this in http://homepage.newschool.edu/~ddporter/PhotoshopReferences.htm

Not that I wanted to confuse you. :D

I have a samsiung 191 T and I have no mouse trials or lag time at all. It may be your videocard if you are having this problem. Justa word of caution Samsung makes the LCD panels for most of the monitor manufacturers out ther except Sony so. You actually might be buying a Samsung in a different case. ( Samsung happens to be the biggest LCD Manufacturer in the world.I read this in PC Magazine)
I did a tremndous amount of research on LCD montiors probably a years worth before taking the plunge and I couldn't find any to match Samsungs quality. Good luck.
