Hi. Does anyone out there know how to replace just the LCD screen in an HP Pavilion ZX5000 series laptop? Mine is a Pavilion ZX5180us. I don't need to replace the whole screen and cover, just the LCD. Thanx for any help.

Finding the LCD unit for a decent price will be the first problem. :)

Hi. Actually that was the easy part. $218.00, shipped (Ebay). Now I'd like to be able to find the correct screws that hold it in place, w/o markin up the cover. Any suggestions? Model again: HP Pavilion ZX5180us

Tapeuup, those are not the maintence manuals. I believe HP has them, since I stumbled across a manual for a different machine on their site using a google search, but I'll be damned if I can find the one he needs on the HP site. :)

Perhaps you need to contact HP directly and see if they can point you to the manual.

If you know the screw size try http://www.smallparts.com/

They have a great selection of small screws and other parts. I have purchased quite a number of small parts from them, their service is excellent and their prices are good.

John's suggestion is more than likely your best bet, $10 is nothing to fix a laptop.
