Hi everyone, thanks in advance for the help this is driving me crazy.

What I'm dealing with is i have a windows 7 HP 2.8 quad core desktop, with a NVIDIA GE Force 240 GT 512 MB video card.

    A 42 inch Phillips LCDTV model number # 42pfl7403d/f7

I have the two connected through HDMI. Everything looks great on the desktop, video files. However there are a handful of games that aren't displaying correctly. What i'm seeing is nothing but very distorted wavy lines. I'm assuming its a resolution issue.

    These games dont work
    Simcity 4
    Napoleon total war
    sins of a solar empire

    These games work fine
    Tropico 3
    Call of Duty
    Machiniruim

So far i've updated my TV's software. I've updated my video card drivers. I've googled. I confirmed my TV is displaying in the same resolution 1920X1080 as my video card is putting out, the refresh rate is at 60 hertz.

Another thing of note is my tv has the capability to change to PC mode. When i change to PC mode however, no matter what resolution i have my computer set for, I have that same waviness. Everything displays perfectly fine in HDTV mode, except for the games.

I imagine what the problem is is that the games won't open in my TV's native resolution? I've searched everywhere for a setting or something i can tweak out but I can't find NOTHIN. Oh and one other thing...thats a bit embarrassing to admit is that i was messing around with settings for like an hour..and i got napoleon to actually open normally, closed it out satisfied and came back to it (after a few days and using my normal computer monitor in the meantime) and its back to the waviness. I don't remember what i did!

Thanks a lot you guys rock.
