leave printer & scanner on?

    Easy question for you. Are there any drawbacks to just leaving my Acer scanner and my HP deskjet 842C on all of the time? They don't seem to be getting unusually hot.

    That's probably highly debatable. :)

    I personally keep my printers and scanners on the majority of the time. Haven't had any problems. The only drawback I would forsee might be just normal "wear and tear" on the power to these peripherals. JMO. :)

    ..but why? if you're not using them why should they be using power. If they have a power button on them, turn them off and save yourself a few bucks. Most printers and scanners turn themselves off by themselves as a power saving function.
