    Canon Powershot A720IS.
When I try to turn the camera on, the screen goes black, makes beeping noises, and shows the message 'lens error, restart camera'.
I have tried turning it off then on again, removing the batteries and memory card.
    Nothing is working!!!
    Please help!

    Hi, welcome to the forum...

I assume your lens doesn't extend when you power on as well...hope you haven't accidentally dropped the camera...have you looked at Canon's support page? It offers sort of the obvious things to check, which you've probably already done... but also warns you may have a malfuction if you can't get the error to clear by restarting...if it's still under warranty I'd consider getting it serviced.
