Lexmark 8350 cartridge error

    I refilled my Lexmark cartridges, the 1st time they worked, this time it freezes saying 'Cartridge Error'. Is there anyone who has figured out how to solve this? I know Lexmark puts a chip so software can read, but these are the lexmark cartridges, so what's the deal?

    Make sure you didn't get any ink on the contacts on the back of the cartridge or on the contacts inside the printer where the cartridge goes. Or try removing and reinserting the cartridge. If that fails then you may just need to buy a new cartridge, if you refill cartridges then you might have better luck with generic cartridges rather then the Lexmark brand cartridges, they would less likely be 'chipped' to not work for refilling which I'm not sure how true that is anyway.

    To the best of my knowledge, Lexmark don't chip the cartridge to prevent refills.

    But refilling can be extremely problematic anyway, I gave up on it years ago. The critical negative pressure in the cartridge is almost impossible to replicate, plus the print quality can be awful when it does work.
