Okay, trying to print 4 X 6 photos (even got the 4 X 6 photo paper) and no matter what there is a white border around the printed photo! I want it to take up the whole page just as you would get back from the photo developer.

I have been in the settings a million times and always mark down for the 4X6 size but it still leaves a white margin all the way around...and Lexmark does not have a 1-800 tech #!!

    Please Help!!
    Thanks,
    Dana

    Hiya

You may have to edit the photo before hand. If you click on Print preview, does it show the margin?

The Lexmark online support is pretty crappy, but does the photo have the margin before you set it to print, as in the originals?

    Regards

Yes, it does show the border before I print because it only has the crop to fit option...I can't not get away from that. I have a feeling that I'm stuck with that...I have wasted so much paper trying to figure this out...Any other ideas on what to do? I have tried to print a 5x7 on the 4x6 paper thinking that it would take care of the white border problem, but of course, the print is too big and doesn't fit into the 4x6 paper....

I assume that if you print it the other way, it comes up with the border.

You may need to remove the border manually.

You can either use something like Paint Shop Pro, free 30 day demo:

    http://www.jasc.com/download_4.asp?

Or you could try in Paint. Just open the photo in paint, but it all depends on which type of file it is.

Failing that, have a look at Irfanview:

    http://www.irfanview.com/

You can cut/crop and it supports many formats.

Then, just remove the border by using the 'moving box'. You'll see what I mean, but many use it in Paint.

I assume it shows the border if you look at it in other ways, as in via your browser, if you doubleclick the photo, instead of printing.

unfortunately lexmark along with many other photo printers always leave a margin around the edge.

Some newer printers have a system whereby you can print right to the edge but not many yet and definitely not the Z65

No matter how much you mess around in paint, photoshop or whatever, you cannot print on this printer without a margin around the edges.

It is not designed for edge to edge printing, so will not do it.
