Hi guys, a few weeks ago there was a huge lightning storm. the powerline outside my house was struck by lightning and now my internet is half the speed it used to be on downloads. we have changed the power adapter for the modem but still the same issue. I also can no longer use ethernet on my PC since the lightning strike. we've tried ringing our ISP but they said everything was fine.

For a computer connected directly by ethernet to the modem what speed does Speedtest.net measure? What should you be getting? Are those the numbers you gave to your ISP's tech support to which they replied "everything was fine".

For the above connection please show ...

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

    [Press ENTER after each command.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

That shows a wireless connection to a router.

Is your "modem" a modem/router combo, or do you have separate modem and router? Is it or them owned by you or the ISP?

Separate modem and router, and the one I'm connected to is a model by the company
