Has anyone ever heard of Lime Wire interfering with other software? Because I have some software that works fine at work but not at home and the o/s, hard drive and mem are same.

    Please let me know!

    Thanks

    Hello,

Not really answering your specific Q. but read this article - particularly the section headed Stealware as this refers to a practice by Limewire developers you might want to know about.

Specifically, what programs does it interfere with and what problems does it cause?

    Specifics:

software that stops responding: Living Cookbook
    www.livingcookbook.com
(insight: I have talked on numerous occasions with the tech support - we have been through everything short of wiping out my hard drive and starting over)

I have cleaned, defrag, gotten rid of spyware and even morpheus and limewire - just to see if the was the prob. the program just hangs! Here's what I have running right now: (and the program just stops responding when I tell it to do something then starts again):

I am running win 2000 pro
    392,736 kb ram
    32.1 G free

The other thing is even though I have deleted both Limewire and Living cookbook and reinstalled living cookbook - it's icon is Limewire's icon of a 'plug'. What does that mean??? And why can I run this program at work and not a home!

do you have a program like spybot, there's a lot of spyware around and it might help if you download and check for such. here is the site to download it.
    http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/spybot11r3.exe

click the online tab to search for and download the updates, then shut down and relaunch SpyBot.

Go to the Settings tab, File Sets, and uncheck 'System Internals' and 'Tracks' .
You don't need these now, and you can see if you can use them later on.

close down Internet Explorer, click 'Check for problems', have SpyBot remove all it finds, then click on 'Fix selected problems'
    hope it helps, good luck
