My ATT Aircard works great some of the time, but I get limited connectivity that creates problems sometimes.

    Any ideas?

When was the last time this machine was restarted?
I do NOT mean put to sleep or hibernation, but shut down completely and then restarted.

This is a problem with a lot of laptops, some are never restarted except when needed to be for a install or a update requires it.

Is "works great" when the signal is good and "limited connectivity" when the signal is poor or non-detectable?

The device shows connected and also in the network connection manager but I get "Internet Explorer cannot display page" and it fails to find problem.

The Limited connectivity symbol usually goes away and may not be related.

Could USB power be a problem? I have it set not to turn off
Is a router a more stable connection?

I have this Mercury ATT Aircard and I am in a 2 yr contract with this for the most part non-usable device...

    help!!!

Is there a LED on the card which indicates power? If so, you can easily determine if it is losing power. If it is losing power there should also be the sound of a USB device connecting/disconnecting.

Please show the following for when you have good internet access and for when you cannot load web pages ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

And, of course, the ipconfig /all still shows the same apparently good connection.

One possibility is that your ISP just gets bogged down with the total usage at any given time.

Another possibility is that the signal quality varies. If you are moving from place to place that is a strong possibility. Do you have any indication of the signal strength, as we usually do when using Wi-Fi?

Even if you sometimes lose connection totally (which would be indicated by an IP of 169.254.x.y (APIPA), it is probably a result of loss of signal, not a computer or aircard problem.

I think that you need to determine whether this is a signal quality/strength problem or an ISP overload problem. If it is, we can do nothing. If it is not, maybe we can trouble shoot the computer.

I still have not gotten to run the laptop this occurs on much, so when the connection fails, I will post information again to see what you think. Signal stays consistent and I have another laptop I tested with aircard that keeps trucking when this one is not working. What do you think about a router for this device? Could that clear up an internal network issue possibly?

A router is a good idea if you want to have internet access on multiple computers, but is not likely to mask any problem the computer may be having.
