I'm on an HP laptop, and whenever I try to connect to a wireless network, I can connect to the Internet fine for about 10 minutes, but after that I get connected with limited access / limited connectivity. This happens no matter what router I use and other laptops can connect to the networks fine without limited connectivity problems, so I'm pretty sure the problem is not with the router. I've searched it a lot in google but none of the solutions work.

I tried that but I still have the same problem. I read the article and it seems that problem addresses a problem after waking the computer up from Sleep. My problem is that the connection works fine but becomes Limited after awhile and I can't connect to the Internet unless I reboot.

Do you have the same problem with an ethernet connection?

What does your wireless ipconfig /all look like when you have lost internet access?

The above ipconfig is with my computer connected with an ethernet cable to the modem AND when the wireless network has become a limited connection. The ipconfig for the wireless connection by itself (without the ethernet connection) when I can connect to the internet with it looks the same as ipconfig for the wireless connection when it has become limited:

Make sure you have the latest wireless driver from HP's web site.

If you already have the latest driver use Device Manager to uninstall it; reboot and let Windows discover the adapter and reinstall the driver.

Do you have the same problem with an ethernet connection?

What, if any, non-Windows firewall or security suite is on the machine?

Please try the wireless in Safe Mode with Networking to see if the problem persists there.

I have no problem with the ethernet connection, and there is no other security program.

The wireless works fine in safe mode... here is the ipconfig while in safe mode

That indicates a service or task running in normal mode, but not Safe Mode, is causing the problem.

Please post a HijackThis 2.00.2 Log (for normal mode) here, and maybe we can spot a likely suspect.

Is HijackThis ever going to support Vista 64-bit???

With this limited log, I'm wondering if you have an antivirus program.

I see you once had Norton and it left some traces. Try using the Norton Removal Tool. Norton is notorious for various conflicting issues when not properly uninstalled, like connectivity...

What is your current antivirus? Do you have one? Am I right about Norton? Have you tried the Norton Removal Tool as suggested?

Without an antivirus, who knows what nasties you may have picked up! It could be the reason for your limited connectivity.

IMO, if you can connect in Safe Mode with Networking, you don't have a network problem. An application or malware is blocking your connection in Normal Mode.

Perhaps we could try ruling out malware by running a Clean Boot.
