Limited or no connectivity at work, works fine at home

I have a PC desktop computer with XP Pro, and I'm running a wired network both at home and at work. At home the computer connects to the internet without a problem. At work I get limited or no connectivity. I've tried other computers on the same internet connection, and they work fine. On the computer from home, I've flushed the IP uninstalled and re-installed the ethernet card, used xp winsock repair software (This usually works on 99 percent of the situations), replaced the cat 5, checked all the tcp-ip settings, tried pinging an ip address, (nothing), and still nothing works. I'm not a novice at this, but I'll be darned if I can think of anything else to try. Help? BTW the work network is running from the modem to a switch. The home network is running from the modem to a router.

Thanks,

Charlie
