    Hi,

I've been using my roommate's linksys wireless-g card (v2.0); when i inserted it into my laptop (windows xp) it didn't work at first and he didn't have an installation cd so i downloaded the driver from the linksys website and it worked fine (altho the linksys monitor program that comes installed with it kept saying there was no connection).

I bought a new linksys wireless-g card for myself (v4.0) and had to do the same thing (download driver--4.0 this time).

but when i insert card into laptop, it shows up on network connection for 2 seconds then disappears and under device manager, it says (code 43) that windows had to stop the device.

is it the difference in versions? i deleted the old drivers, did even system restore, and reinstalled drivers and it keeps happening.

    please help!! :( :(
