I bought a used WRT54G v8.2, I can connect to the control panel with no problem, but other than that my PC refuses to see the 'Net connection.

I connect the modem to the router's WAN port, and then the router to my PC using port 1, the connection between the PC and the router is working, but not between the PC and the 'Net, although the router's 'Net access light is on and solid, so it seems the router is seeing the 'Net, but Windows can't seem to see past the router.

All the lights that are supposed to be on, are on, there doesn't seem to be an issue, but obviously there is one.

I've tried doing a reset using the button on the back of the router, I've also tried doing a factory reset through the control panel. But I still have no 'Net access.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Hello mlauzon,

What's the make and model of the problem computer?

Also, just to clarify, you're unable to connect via Ethernet cable AND wireless?

The computer is not the problem, I built it myself.

I am not using wireless. Please read my post again very slowly & carefully.

I read your post and I understand the problem -- there is no need for me to read it again. There are always routine questions that have to be asked in order to obtain information that would more than likely be needed later.

So you know, this is a 100% volunteer-based website -- none of us are paid. If you would like my help, I'm willing to offer it. But I also ask that you do not treat me as if I don't know what I'm doing, and that you keep in mind I'm helping you for free. There is no need to be rude.

Do you want to continue with me or wait until someone else sees your thread?

----------------------------------

If you want to continue with me, I am going to need the make and model of the network card you installed in your next post along with the operating system on the problem computer.
