    Hi,
I find that my Liteon drive is apparently unable to format MediaCache CD-RW disks but will happily do so on Sony disks. Is this a common problem? Does it mean that one simply has to buy a few different brands and "suck it and see"?
    I'm running Win2K Pro.
    Thanks

Some burners simply will not work with some media, this is not uncommon. Sometimes there are firmware updates for the drive to increase media compatibility. It also doesn't hurt to update your CD burner via free patches offered by the software manufacturer.

To answer the original question, many times it's YES :D

    Thanks for the prompt replies.
I like Johnwill's Occam's Razor, used to use "Occam's razor, the ultimate engineering tool," as a signature at work.
