Recently got my laptop up and running but it seems i am experiencing very slow internet connection. It takes ages to load basic websites. Can someome tell me what maybe causing the problems. As before I got my laptop running again I searched for viruses/ malware, disk clean-up, compression(which caused the crash) without any luck.

Three things you can do.

Switch off Windows Defender, you should never have more than one Anti Virus program running at the same time, this can slow down your system and cause conflicts with McAfee.

Update Java. Your Jave installation is out of date, you should first use Add/Remove Programs to completely uninstall any Java products you can see in the programs list. Then download and install the latest version.

Finally, upgrade Internet Explorer to the latest version.

Razorwing, I think you will find that if you have the OP disable this process below that it will disable the touchpad.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Apoint] C:\Program Files\Apoint\Apoint.exe

You have also requested disabling the Java update scheduler. This is not good for the security of the system as out of date Java is vulnerable to infections and it saves the OP from having to remember to check it on a regular basis.

I don't see how any of your recommendations will speed up the OP's internet connection.

Wblati, are you still in need of any assistance. I would suggest you ignore the advise given by Razorwing (his account is now disabled) disabling all those processes is very unlikely to make a difference to your internet speed and the Apoint.exe process is needed to make your touchpad work. The rest are optional so you may get a tiny improvement in boot up time but I doubt you will notice.

Also, do not disable the Java update scheduler it is important to keep it up to date. Uninstalling and updating Java to the latest version (as I suggested earlier) will change this entry in HJT anyway.
