Hello, I am running the Windows XP operating system.

My internet connection has gotten unbelievably slower in the past couple of days and i noticed that when i check under network connections and check the status of my Local Area Connection the numbers for my sent and received packets are much, much, higher than they ever were before. It seemed to me like they never used to surpass 3 digits but now they are frequently in the tens of thousands, with the number of received packets disproportionately higher than the number of sent packets. My computer is connected to a router and there are two others computers on this network. Does anyone recognize any potential problem from the symptons?

I also tried doing system restore from about 10 different restore points and got a "restoration incomplete" message every time. But that's a problem for a different board.
