When I insert a USB flashdrive, I receive error message "Location is not available. G:\ is not available. Access Denied"
I can see the drive(s) in explorer, and I'm the Administrative User with full permissions, but it keeps telling me I can't access/use the USB prorts.
    Any ideas? It's Windows 7.
    Thanks!

Does this happen if you use a different thumbdrive?

Does the drive work on other computers?
Do other drives work on this computer?
Has this drive ever worked on this computer?
Has the drive ever been formatted or used as a boot drive?

What is the exact make, model, and capacity? Did you buy it on eBay?

yes, i tried 3 different flashdrives in each port with the same result. Also, when I connect my camera by usb, my files will not transfer. I've just somehow just been banished from my usb ports.......

Are they listed in the "Device Manager"?

Can you post a screen shot of the Device Manager window?

I get same message when i connect my external (storage) drive and when I connect my camera to transfer files.
Yes, they did work until abount a month ago and I've just been working around it so far. I haven't done anything crazy like reinstall windows or download a big software pack or something like that.

I've never formatted the drives or used as a boot drive.

It's a Lenovo, 570 I believe, with 64 bit Win7. No ebay - straight from Best Buy as a new computer.

    thanks!

I'm away from that computer right now, but I will send a screen shot ASAP.
