I am running Windows 7 Pro. When I boot to the desktop I receive an error that the desktop location is not available. None of my desktop icons are visible. After doing a system restore I can boot without any errors into Safe Mode and see the files that normally appear on my desktop.

I receive a message saying I don't have permissions when I try to access the systemprofile folder in c:\windows\system32\config to add a desktop folder.

Any suggestions on a fix is appreciated.

Thank you for looking.
