Did not manage to get location access on my facebook.
    Followed the following:
To turn on location access for the Facebook app for iOS (version 8.0+):
    1. Go to your device's home screen.
    2. Tap Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
    3. Scroll through the list of apps below, tap Facebook and select While Using the App. If you previously turned on Location History for Facebook, you can select Always.
    4. Restart the Facebook app for iPhone or iPad
    see printscreen...........can't get any further

That doesn't look like the right screen. I think you missed step 1: Go to your device's home screen.
That means you need to use your iPhone/iPad and access the IOS Settings not Facebook settings.

OK, well you don't. You are trying to following instructions for a completely different device that you don't own. Those instructions are for devices running iOS which are only Apple devices like iPhones or iPads. Since you have a Samsung phone you need the Android instructions. An Samsung S6 is a smart phone. The settings you posted are to be used if you want Facebook to know where you are when you post using your phone, is that what you want to do? Or are you trying to do something else?

thanks so much! Anyone on the forum who may be able to instruct me in simple terms?
I would like Facebook to indicate where i have been and at what time[of course i have to have my android with me the]
also the question if the android has to be on [not off]..........it seems to me logic that this has to be so!![but there are so many surprises.....]
In this case i can see on my home computer the locations of course.Would facebook keep these tracks store for long or just for a few weeks or so??
thanks for all your reactions and time spend.

    you want this setting
under security /security settings/where I have logged in
BUT don't rely on 100% accuracy on location. That is based on information from your ISP (or publicly available IP location apps) on IP location. It can be more accurate on a mobile device BUT only if location services are enabled on that device & the device is set to allow Facebook access to location data

    Follow the Android instructions: https://www.facebook.com/help/275925085769221

Obviously the phone has to be on. For best results you will need GPS, Cellular, and WiFi Location services enabled. Your battery life will likely take a hit and not last as long either.

They will keep the info for as long as they like, they don't remove info from previous posts.

alas,i dont progress [see attachment] after opening the link https://www.facebook.com/help/275925085769221
none of the options are possible
simply no localisation found on facebook and in the attachment sent none can be opened.
    any other possibilities??

none of the options below are possible

    Android Devices

To turn on Location Services for your Android device:

    1. Tap Settings > Location
    2. Tap [IMG] to turn on Location Services
In older Android devices (OS 5.1.1 and earlier), turning on Location Services automatically turns on location access for the Facebook app.

To turn on location access for the Facebook app for Android (OS 6.0+):

    1. Tap Settings > Apps > [IMG] > App Permissions > Location
    2. Scroll through the list of apps and tap [IMG] near Facebook
    3. Restart the Facebook app for Android

Just tried it on my phone and the instructions match perfectly.

Your screenshots still show you are trying to use your computer to make the change. STOP and read the instructions carefully. These steps need to be done on your phone not on your computer.
