lock a folder

    Hi, can anyone out there recommend something to password protect a folder on my laptop please ...........windows.7

    If you have Pro or Ultimate, you can right click on the file, choose Properties, General tab, Advanced button. Checkmark encrypt . This will protect the file, provided every user on the PC has their own account.

    You can simply zip it and put a password for your zip file. No one would be able to access it without knowing the password.

    VeraCrypt is it's successor.
    Old TrueCrypt containers will open in VeraCrypt.
