Locked out of my Ipad mini 2

My grand-daughter has locked herself out of her ipad mini 2. I don't know nothing about the ipads as I'm more of a Windows and Android man, that's the reason that I am turning to the gurus of all knowledge computers.

When you say locked out, that's sort of vague. If you mean that she added a passcode and doesn't remember it, that's one issue, or if she entered the wrong password too many times and it disables it that's another.

Both those issues require a full factory reset through iTunes, however you need to make sure whoever set the iPad up from the beginning knows the iCloud account and password that's in it or you'll reset it and be no better off than you are now because you won't be able to get to the setup without the iCloud account information....for security purposes.
