So my computer was stolen a while back. I've since gotten it back from the police but it is password protected by the ***** who stole it. I tried rebooting in safe mode with command prompt but it doesn't seem to give me a chance to put in commands. I don't have any windows reset discs or USB drives that I could find. If I need to get something that's fine I just need to get in.

Edit: just noticed the rule against asking this. Nvmd

Sorry, as you have seen from the rules we can't help with this, all you can do & should do is format the computer & reinstall the OS & software.
If you don't have any discs then take it to a local repair shop and ask therm to copy off the data you need then reinstall the OS & programs

If any computer is stolen or lost & later recovered, you can never know what the criminal has installed or done to it that will continue to cause you difficulties.

What operating system is installed on the computer?
If it is windows 10 then you don't need new discs or recovery. you can download a usb recovery direct from Microsoft
