Windows 7 login screen fails to load, just get a blank desk top with a cursor. Try to start in safe mode and it gets stuck at classpnp.sys and fails to progress. Chckdsk is auto running on power up. Feels like its running hotter than normal. It's a 5-6 yr old Toshiba Saltallite.

    Thanks

You might be needing to clean the fan in your computer.
Probably the hard drive is defective. You will need to replace it.

From a cold start turn the computer on. If you see an invitation to press the F2 key to enter Setup, do so. The Setup screen will appear.
Run the Toshiba Hardware utility from the Toshiba Console and note back on any errors that show up.
