    this is a complete login system, it is also the code has comments explain how it works, i found it a great help. if there is anything you do not understand post it up. you will have to change the <? to <?php as this was made when <? was still a valid short hand in all versions of php

    I fail to see where you would need / use AJAX in a login system...

    you can put AJAX into damn near anything... there just really isn't a point with a login system. in fact, it might actually be detrimental somehow although i can't think of any specific reasons why that would be at this time...

    why would it be detrimental. surely it would only increase security. i suppose it all depends on what you are trying to protect as a password is a form of protection
