Logitech usb mic wont work

    My Logitech USB desktop microphone won't work. I plugged it in the lights on and everything but it won't record anything.

    Hi Larryecook,

    could you give a little bit more info about you computer, OS, sound card..
    You should first check out all volumes from the mixer (also recording) and what is your recording device from the control panel. I bet it's the recording device.

    I have Windows vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 32 bit. My sound card is from creative the model number is SB0570.

    Here is the path in Vista:
    "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Hardware and Sound" > "Sound" (In the classic view there is a direct link to "Sound" from "Control Panel", II think). Then click the "Recording" tab and there you see your recording devices. Check out that your USB mic is activated.

    I think there are also some settings for recording devices in you sound card too.

    But start with Vista, hope that's enough.

    If this is not helping, maybe your recording software settings are wrong.
    After that we're going to update the drivers :D

    I plugged it into a different usb port and it worked.
