My brother had this webcam for about 3 years. Today he gave me the cam and the software. I installed it and after i went to open it and it says a webcam was not found or is not working properly. It is plugged in correctly and my brother and i have the exact same computer and it worked on his. The camera is a logitech quickcam version 10.0

any help on why its not working it appreciated

It presumably worked on you brother's PC right up until he gave it to you?????
When you say he gave you the software, this was a disk that originally came with the camera???? And you used this disk for the installing???

You can go to logitech's site here and try downloading option 2 (driver robot to recognize your connected cam). Click on the cam image. If you're using XP it should open up your install wizard once you run the file from logitech. Take it from there.
