WINME continues to ask for a logon pasword, even tho I did not set one. When starting up, it stops to show a suaser name and then asks for the password. I can either hit <ok> or the "X" in the top right and continue on. I would liek to get rid of the box altogether...any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Try this for a start:

    Go to ControlPanel/Network
Choose Windows Logon as Primary Login

Open system.ini, and delete all lines under
    [Password Lists]

    No joy?

Go to Start/Find/Files or Folders, and type *.pwl in the 'named' field.
Delete the files with the *.pwl extension that come up.

    Now reboot
You should now get the login box. Type your name and password or leave the password field blank for no password

    Good luck,
